Pendulum: The Choice Cycle is a decision‑based puzzle game where each choice swings a metaphorical pendulum that affects subsequent challenges. You are given a series of binary dilemmas – left or right, help or ignore, explore or retreat – and your goal is to keep the pendulum within a “balance zone” for as many cycles as possible. The game ends when the pendulum swings too far, but each run offers a new random sequence.
The core loop includes 200 predefined cycles (plus infinite random modes), each with three to five dilemmas. Early cycles have obvious optimal choices, while later cycles present ambiguous scenarios where both options carry significant consequences. We update the dilemma database monthly, drawing from community‑suggested themes.
The visual design is elegant: a central pendulum against a gradient background, with subtle particle effects that change colour based on your balance. The interface is stark and focused, showing only the dilemma text and two choice buttons. Animations are fluid, and the entire experience is lightweight, loading instantly on any device.
A “balance advisor” offers a percentage likelihood of success for each choice, and you may use “reset tokens” to replay any cycle. Offline play is supported, and all runs are stored in a local history log. Pendulum is ideal for developing judgment and risk assessment; its rapid cycles make it a perfect filler for short waiting periods, while its reflective nature also suits longer contemplative sessions.
