Description
Veil of Whispers is a deductive puzzle game set in a fog‑shrouded manor where you piece together fragmented witness accounts to solve mysteries. Your objective is to compare testimonies, cross‑reference timestamps, and identify inconsistencies – each solved case closes a “whisper” and brings you closer to unmasking the manor’s hidden secret. The game concludes when all cases are resolved and the truth is laid bare.
The campaign includes 225 distinct cases, organised into five wings of the manor – each wing has its own theme (ballroom, library, conservatory, tower, and crypt). Early cases present two witnesses and simple contradictions; later cases involve up to six witnesses with overlapping alibis and deliberate red herrings. We release “visitor’s tales” periodically, adding new cases that expand the manor’s lore.
Visually, the game employs a moody, chiaroscuro style with candlelit interiors, deep shadows, and subtle dust motes floating in the air. The interface presents testimonies as scrollable cards, and you can pin notes to a virtual corkboard. Animations are restrained but atmospheric, and the entire experience runs smoothly on both large screens and handheld devices.
A “deduction compass” highlights potentially conflicting statements, and you can use “insight tokens” to reveal one hidden connection per case. The game saves every solved case locally and supports offline replay of any wing. Veil of Whispers is ideal for fans of logical reasoning and narrative immersion – it sharpens critical analysis and offers a compelling way to occupy quiet evenings or rainy travel delays.
